When do I need a wireless network at home?

When you want to be able to access the Internet from any room, you want to be able to share information between computers or access devices that support IP networks.

With a home wireless solution, all computers in your house can use a single broadband connection to gain access to the Internet.

Why do I need a wireless network at home?

If you are happy with running cables everywhere in your house, then you don’t need it - but if you want the freedom and flexibility (a life without cables), then wireless is the way to go.

Do I need a laptop to use wireless?

No - you can get wireless cards for desktop computers.

Will everyone on my street be able to access my computers?

No - wireless has great security features built-in.

Do I need any special software or programs?

Most computers already have built-in support for wireless networks - so chances are you won’t need any other software.

Is it safe?

Once configured, your computer takes care of the technical stuff - you don’t have to be technical to take full advantage of wireless technology.

How much does it cost?

It depends on what you want to be able to do - but generally you need the following, a wireless station and wireless card in each computer (laptop or desktop) plus the cost of the time spent for installation and configuration of the system.

What about when things go wrong?

We have telephone and on-site support contracts to help you. Generally if the system is set-up properly - it should work with very little problems.
